Come by and talk to the kids. Besides being really super young people, they have lots of great ideas and energy. You would be welcome!

Glad you posted this story. I was sorry we couldn't be there, but I've been intrigued by this hip-hop group. You know, a few of us "really old" people, Karen, Marc, George and a few others have been talking about a hip-hop aerobics class in the dome room, using a video. Maybe Kyla and her gang could come in and mentor us sometimes, assuming we get this off the ground one day.

I love these stories. And I love it that most of the time kids are so unselfconscious about their acts of generosity. To me that is one of the signs of a truly generous community.

Great to hear from you Eric! Alot of times things happen that we can't all be a part of so I am hoping that this is just another one of the many ways to keep us all in the loop and share some of good things that are going on. Thanks for dropping by. And you are welcome to tell us about things that you are connected with you too!

Duane, This is the first time I've made it to the blog. I'm glad to read about the "count your blessings game" because I couldn't stay that Sunday.

It is wonderful that there are multiple authors here. I'll be back!

Not long ago someone from another church suggested to me that Broadway might be interested in a program that would exist in order to get "every person in ministry every day." The guy asked if I didn't think that would be a great idea. I told him it wasn't necessary. He asked why not. I told him it was because people from Broadway are ALREADY in ministry every day. Alan's good work and life are a wonderful reminder and sign that this is true.

Alan and his family are so cool. Maybe he would be willing to lead the Hip Hop aerobics class Karen and I have been wanting to start.

I am glad you are using this type of forum -- both on this blog and your new personal blog as a way to sort thru some of these tough issues. We will be interested in listening to your thoughts as you make this journey. Thank you for being willing to challenge the systemic injustices.
